Community Partnerships & Engagement Coordinator

Dallas, Houston, Austin, TX

Do you build connections that matter and turn relationships into real community impact?

At Portfolio Resident Services (PRS), we believe that connection creates change. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping residents in affordable housing communities thrive, we focus on programs that build stability, empowerment, and opportunity. We’re expanding our impact — and we’re looking for a Community Partnerships & Engagement Coordinator who’s ready to lead relationship-building, strengthen local partnerships, and help our teams deliver meaningful community programs nationwide.

Who is the ideal candidate?

A connector at heart — someone who believes collaboration sparks change. You thrive in building relationships, nurturing partnerships, and creating opportunities for meaningful community engagement. You bring a proactive and dependable approach to your work, keeping things organized while staying people centered. You are mission-driven, passionate about resident impact, and skilled at turning outreach and partnership development into lasting, positive change for the communities we serve.

General Function: This role serves as the connector between community organizations and PRS’s on-site teams. You’ll act as both a strategist and a relationship-builder—developing partnerships with nonprofits, schools, businesses, and civic organizations to create programs that empower residents and enhance community well-being. This position blends creativity with structure: you’ll plan and implement initiatives that drive engagement, support local collaborations, and amplify PRS’s mission across our network of affordable housing communities. You’ll work closely with our field teams to ensure programs are well-supported, participation grows, and PRS’s mission shines through every event and partnership.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and nurture partnerships with local and national organizations that align with PRS’s mission and goals.
  • Serve as a liaison between PRS field teams and external partners to ensure smooth communication and project execution.
  • Manage and track partnership agreements (MOUs) and maintain a current database of contacts and collaborations.
  • Support sites in strengthening participation and engagement through creative program ideas and shared resources.
  • Coordinate logistics for key events such as Back-to-School drives, holiday celebrations, and health fairs.
  • Align all engagement activities with PRS’s monthly and annual program initiatives.
  • Plan quarterly volunteer events and corporate engagement opportunities.
  • Represent PRS at partner events, conferences, and community meetings.
  • Capture and share success stories, photos, and impact metrics for internal and public use.
  • Monitor and report on partnership performance and engagement outcomes to guide strategic improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in community engagement, partnership development, or outreach coordination.
  • Proven relationship-builder with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organized multitasker who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
  • Skilled in event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and cross-sector collaboration.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM or partner tracking systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Nonprofit Management, Public Affairs, or related field preferred.
  • Able to travel monthly and attend occasional evening/weekend events.

Why You’ll Love Working with PRS

  • Be part of a mission-driven team that values innovation, reliability, purpose, and stewardship of impact.
  • Collaborate with inspiring community and corporate partners nationwide.
  • Enjoy a supportive, flexible work environment with competitive pay and benefits.
  • See your work come to life as you help create lasting change in communities across the country.
